For better and for worse: Thank you!

It’s a journey that starts with a slap on the back, and you never know when it ends! It’s life! You’ll never get to know the famous ” Ups and Downs” until you experience it! You’ll never learn the lessons until the events are history and you’re looking back.

Live it, love it and embrace it. For  better and the worse, for richer and hpoorer, you ought to thank God!

Would you know the value of happiness, if you haven’t experienced sadness? Would you know the value of water, if you haven’t experienced thirst?  And I ask you, as I have asked myself, would you know how many blessings are shed on your life, if they weren’t taken from you, even for a short while?

We nag a lot, don’t we? we blame destiny for every wrong thing  we experience. We curse, we shout, we rebel for the tiniest and silliest reasons. How many times have you said: “It’s not fair!” or ” I don’t deserve this!” Or even worst ” Why me God? Why me!”

If you come to think about it, Are you the judge of what’s fair and what’s not? Who can be more fair than God? Can you? I have asked the question ” Why me God?” So many times, until I reached the answer ” Why not me?” The mighty God, who has given me so many blessings through my life, who has saved me from my own self and others, doesn’t he deserve my thanks and gratefulness when he puts me into trial? If I thank him and accept his judgment when I’m happy and healthy, doesn’t he deserve my thank you and acceptance when I’m sick and down? Is he my God only at my best, and during my worst I blame him?

For two months I was almost crippled, unable to walk, and perform the simplest everyday functions the way I used to. And guess what : that experience was the most in lighting and educative experience I’ve ever had! And I was sure to thank God for it, especially through my sickness. And that’s how I prayed through it.

” My God, I know that you are fair, and your judgments are just. If I’m sick because of all the sins that I’ve made through my life, then I thank you for the suffering I’m going through now instead of experimenting it after you take my soul. I pray that you would be erasing my sins through this suffering. If I’m sick, but not because of my sins, then I thank you for the purpose you intended for me, even if it’s hidden from me now, but I’m sure I will learn it later in life.  I pray that you lift this heavy burden off of me, if that’s your wish. Whatever you wish for me God, I accept it thankfully!”

Do this with me, think about your regular day, the one you might describe as boring. I guess you would say: I wake up, get out of bed, walk into the bathroom. I might change my clothes, or stay in my pijis. I have a cup of coffee….” In those three simple sentences, do you know how many actions you have done, and you have the Lord to thank for?  You might have never considered this before, I never did as well, until …

How would you feel, that on that same boring day, you woke up, but you couldn’t get out of bed? Your whole body was in terrible pain? unable to move your legs and having a serious wish to go to the WC. but the only way to do so is to ask for somebody’s help?! you can’t sit up straight to drink, and have to eat your meals lying on your back? you can’t walk, carry things or even dress yourself?!!! how hard is that? how tough?! Well now you know what a blessing it is to be able to do the simplest things, like walking, dressing, eating while you’re sitting up. and going to pee by yourself! You see how many things you’re blessed with? how thankful you should be? Before my experience I used to look to people on wheel chairs with pity, not in a bad form, but I used to be sorry for them. Now I see them through different lense: I respect them, for their courage, their strong will and their acceptance for God’s judgment. And for trying to make the best out of their condition.

Now I know, when I see crippled people in worship houses, that they’re there to pray for their own miracle, to ask for forgiveness and mercy and patience. They’re not there to put the blames on destiny, nor to rebel!

There are a few lines from an Arabic poetry that I came to admire so much, here’s my translation of these lines into English: You, who whines and weeps even though you are healthy , I wonder what would you do if you got sick? An evil person on this earth is the one   who wishes himself death every single day!

Indeed….

If you plant grapes, you shall not harvest  thorns!

Thank you to all those who prayed for me… your prayers gave me strength, and were definitely heard…

Thank you God for healing me…

We’re merely visitors on this earth, guests who are destined to one day leave. Be polite enough to maintain this earth pure and nice and to thank God for hosting us on one of his planets.

The Ungrateful

Quote

The Ungrateful… someone who doesn’t appreciate all the things you do for him. Someone who turns his back to you when you most expect him to return your favors. Someone who eats at your table and talks behind your back, or more precisely stabs you in the back. Yes off-course you know the ungrateful  because we all have one in our lives! Maybe a family member, a colleague at work, an unworthy friend, a jealous neighbor perhaps! Fortunately for me I have come across with many ungrateful people in my life, most of them used to be my friends, and some of them still are.

You might wonder why I said “fortunately for me”,  well If you have asked me one year ago I would have said that there’s nothing fortunate about it, and those people never deserved to be in my life or get a piece of my affection, but now I see it differently!

I know how much it hurts and depresses you to treat someone with love and trust, but receive the vice in return. It is very easy to go with the concept an eye for an eye! someone hurts you and you hurt back, they stab you in the back and you do the same. But think how brave of you it is to know that the other is being unjust to you, yet you keep calm and proud! Think how courageous you are, when you have all the power to hurt back, yet you choose to turn the other cheek. Few, and few only choose to forgive the ungrateful, because it is a very hard choice to take. It needs someone with great self confidence and a lot of kindness and good will, which are not so much of popular traits these days! But once you take that decision, once you choose not to return the ungratefulness, you’ll experience the most spectacular energy filing your soul, a new kind of joy, you know you did the right thing. I am fortunate to witness this feeling!

The ungrateful are miserable human beings, nothing is ever enough for them. Nothing satisfies their hunger, they are blinded so they can’t see the blessings that surround them, and are trapped behind a wall of envy and greed. We ought to pity them since we are fortunate enough to witness and appreciate all the blessings that God has given us. We are able to experience happiness through the simple things in life and yet be grateful. Our souls are not empty, and vague. We know how to give thanks to God and those who deserve. Don not be sad from their behaviors, but be happy from yours. You’re the one who is ready to give, and at the same time knows how to be grateful…

My Thank you List 2011- My Prayer List 2012

Today is the last day of 2011, and I’m feeling particularly excited about the New Year. I have started some new year’s tradition since 2010, when I decided that years also require a proper closure. Some sort of an elegant goodbye, which leads to spiritual peace. I decided that every new year I’m going to look back and remember only the good times, the achievements, the best of the best and be seriously thankful. For the way I see it, only the Good times are worthy of our meditations and reflections.

I wanted to let you on my end of year rituals, maybe if you practice them they’ll bring you as much joy and satisfaction as they bring me.So, fasten your seat belts and off we go:

My Thank you List of 2011:

“Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness. Psalm 107:8-9

Lord, In 2011 you have blessed me with every reason of happiness, and for that I’m very grateful and thankful.

-1-  My biggest Joy was when I read the bible for the first time at the beginning of 2011, that’s how I found my way to your beloved son, our lord Jesus. Thank you for showing me the right path! and saving my soul from the valley of shadows.

-2- Thank  you for blessing me with a loving family, my husband and my daughter are the most precious gifts in this life.

-3- Thank you for our good health.

-4- Thank  you for the roof we have over our heads, for the clothes we have on our backs, and for the food we have on our table every day.

-5-Thank you for All the love you have planted under our roof, which is blossoming in our hugs and smiles and in my baby’s face.

-6-Thank you for giving me the chance to spread some of your messages to us through my writings, now I know the reason you blessed with this talent. You want me to write for you, and I will.

-7- Thank you for granting us with enough life time to witness the beginning of a New Year.

Yes, It has truly been a wonderful year, and I’m grateful for every day, every hour, and every minute. Thank you Lord.

My Prayers List For 2012

Jesus Says: “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”    (Luke 11:9-12  NIV)

My heavenly father, I pray to you in such a devoted spirit. Give us your blessings to go through our New year.

-1- Grant us the wisdom and logic to stay on the right track, to hold on to our faith even more, to teach others that you are the path and the only way.

-2- Bless the earth with peace. And Show our leaders that war and injustice are not the right way. Plant mercy in their hearts.

-3- Bless me, my Family, and friends with good health and peace. Don’t deprive us from your mercy, accept our prayers, and forgive our weak souls.Give us Our daily bread.

-4- give us the strength and potential to forgive others and help them the same way we want you to forgive us and help us. Salivate us from the wickedness in our souls, and protect us from the Evil.

-5-Protect my little girl, and give her good health, and the care of good people who would love her as much as me and her dad do.

Lord, bless us all.

Amen

I bet that you too have a lot in 2011 to thank God for, and prayers and wishes for 2012. Would you like to share some with me, I would love to hear your thankful list a lot.

I beg you to keep in mind, that it’s not too late, to repent. It’s not too late to give our apologies for our mistakes and start all over, and to pray to our merciful Father for a new beginning.

Happy New Beginning, 2012: Enjoy the night, but don’t drink and drive.

A Good deed For Today!

A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Saint Basil

“let’s do a good deed today. Go to your closet now, open it and choose something old, maybe out of fashion that you’re not going to wear anymore. Now think, do you know how many people wish they had those cloths? Give it to someone who needs it.

Congratulations, you just started your day with a good doing, bless you for helping the less fortunate.”

Personal Thoughts About This Year’s Christmas!

My baby girl is taking a nap, so I’m taking this chance to write down what’s been on my mind for a while now!

Christmas  is just three days away and I haven’t been able to do any shopping yet! shopping! ” Anna” my baby girl starts crying every time I go out to buy something. I cant leave her at home with anyone! She’s been causing some nervous break downs through out the family, she’s getting seriously attached to me, but that’s another story…

I’ve been anxiously looking for posting more of my Christmas stories from the sequel teach the children “Happy In The Heart Of Jesus!”but that seems almost impossible now, because of my newborn. but I know that some of you have been waiting to read more, so I promise to post more after the holiday’s even if that comes a bit late, but Its never late to teach our children all the moral and religious values that the lord has taught us in the form of fun and simple stories.

Another point that’s been on mind as well, is the outrageous theft that happens around the holidays! Why is everything so expensive by this time of the year! A plastic Christmas tree costs 400$! Not to mention the price list of all the gifts and even the food! This is outrageous! When mother Mary gave birth to our Lord Jesus, she did it  “in a crude stable. She wrapped the baby in cloths and placed him in a manger.” Do you know how much it costs to decorate a sample crude stable and place it under you Christmas tree!

Please don’t misunderstand me people, I’m not a cheap person, but I’m logical enough to think that the needy and the poor are more deserving  of all those expenses we pay around Christmas which goes directly into the pockets of large, rich incorporation most probably managed by mason leaders who are anti -Christ to begin with!

Now here’s another thought,  ask your child this ” What does Christmas represents to you”and most probably you gonna here the first word goes something like this “Santa”! or “Gifts“!

Santa  has been the popular figure that children wait for all year long, and that’s very healthy for a child. But we as parents have been committing the horrible mistake of not explaining the real meaning of Christmas to our young generation! The child must know that Christmas is to celebrate the birth of our savior, he who has endured all the pain of the world just to wash our sins away and save us. And perhaps we should, as adults, study the real story of Santa in order to be able to put things in better perception for our young ones: The true story of Santa Claus begins with Nicholas, who was born during the third century in the village of Patara. At the time the area was Greek and is now on the southern coast of Turkey. His wealthy parents, who raised him to be a devout Christian, died in an epidemic while Nicholas was still young. Obeying Jesus’ words to “sell what you own and give the money to the poor,” Nicholas used his whole inheritance to assist the needy, the sick, and the suffering. Last But Not Least:

Merry Christmas, May it be full of blessings for all the people living on this earth!

Thank you for all my followers and readers, you have given me all the encouragement I need to start writing again!

“Lord please give us the strength to hold on to our faith, and the correct vision to see how well you surround us, and the logic to give and be grateful.

Lord, please help our leaders see the light of your wisdom, and the power of your actions, help them to let go of their ignorance and follow your virtuous path”

Amen

A Thing or Two about Happiness and love.

“Love is the condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own”. Robert Heinlein .

As humans, we are sometimes very selfish. We want the best of everything, and that’s not so bad. But when we forget about the happiness of those around us and keep focusing on ourselves, we bring sadness, discomfort, anger, and conflicts not only to them but to ourselves as well. It’s a well-known fact that happy people spread positive energy around them, and vice verse.

So here’s a thought for you this week:

When was the last time you did something nice to that special someone in your life, or to a person you really care about?

When was the last time you showed appreciation to those who share your life journey?

Don’t think about what the other person did for you, just take the initiation. Take a decision right now that this week of your life is to give love and appreciation to people you care about. Maybe a phone call with warm words to your mom will delight her heart, a post card to an old friend. A romantic dinner in a special place will re-ignite the flames of love between you and your spouse.

Just A thing or Two to think about, and believe me its worth the shot.

Have a great week.
